With but a few days left until Thanksgiving, Pantera fans sure have a lot to be thankful for as the surviving members of the band are set to release "Cowboys From Hell: The Demos", a vinyl-only joint limited to 3,000 copies. As indicated by the title, the album compiles the legendary demos that were recorded prior to the band going in to release what would be the album that would make them a household name in the metal community. The album will be released on Black Friday - November 26 - and will be available at all participating Metal Club record stores. Of course, tomorrow (Nov 23), the band will be releasing the Ultimate Edition of "Cowboys From Hell". It contains the same 3-CD track listing as the Deluxe Edition that was released in September, along with a host of cool extras:
-'We're Takin' Over This Town' flyer reproduction (8 1/2' x 11')
-'It's Up To You/Censorship' flyer reproduction (8 1/2' x 11')
-Arcadio Theatre poster reproduction (11' x 17')
-New Years Puke Party T-shirt (XL)
-All Access Tour Pass '90 Fabric Sticker
-'Fucking Hostile' button
-'Cowboys From Hell' Texas Guest Laminated Pass
-U.S. Tour '91 All Access Laminated Pass
-Ticket reproduction, June 14 1991
Metallica fans also have reason to rejoice on Black Friday, as Metal Club will also release "Live at Grimey's", a live album filmed at the intimate club Grimey's the day before their appearance at Bonnaroo in 2008. The album will be available on CD on on two-disc 10" vinyl. Like the Pantera release, it too will only be available at participating Metal Club record stores.
Fans of Anthrax, Every Time I Die, and Chicago's Fall Out Boy can also circle Black Friday on their calendars, as it marks the release of the debut single by The Damned Things, a band featuring Scott Ian and Rob Caggiano of Anthrax, Joe Trohman and Andy Hurley of Fall Out Boy, Keith Buckley of Every Time I Die, and current Every Time I Die bassist Josh Newton (formerly of From Autumn to Ashes/Season to Risk/Reggie and the Full Effect/SHINER). The single, "We've Got A Situation Here" is available from Metal Club as well.
Belgium band K's Choice (best known for their modern rock hit "Not An Addict") return from a lengthy absence with a new song available for FREE download. The song, "Echo Mountain", is the title cut from their latest album (a double-CD, no less) that came out in April, but is getting a new push in time for the holidays.
