Remember back in the golden age of television (pre-DVR and VCR) when you could only watch one show at a time and, as a result, found yourself having to make some tough choices? Such a dilemma faces discerning music fans in the Windy City tonight as South Carolina's Slow Runner storms into town to blow the roof off of The Old Town School Of Folk Music while local super-group Candy Golde (featuring Nick Tremulis, Bun E. Carlos, John Stirratt and Rick Rizzo) prepares to tear the Double Door's doors right off their hinges.
Here's the thing: You can do both shows, as Slow Runner is opening for some dude you don't really need to see (so we won't even mention William Fitzsimmons by name - D'oh, we just did!) and will hit the stage at 8:30PM. Candy Golde, meanwhile, are headlining and won't hit the stage until 11PM, we presume. That gives you enough time to catch Slow Runner, go home and try on your new Slow Runner t-shirt, and then grab a bite to eat before sauntering over to the DD to rock out with your cock out in your new SR tee.
