For anyone who may have thought last year's US tour may have been their final go-round, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers have announced an extensive North American and European tour schedule for 2012. As if that weren't cool enough, Petty himself will be answering questions from fans via his Twitter account for an hour TODAY (Thursday), beginning at 5:30 EST. Oddly enough, when asked by Rolling Stone if he'd be touring again anytime soon, Petty responded, "I kind of don't want to get on the same merry-go-round again," adding that he’s working on new album. "But I don't know. It's early."
Madonna, who was announced as the halftime entertainment for the Super Bowl, has just inked a new three-album deal with Interscope Records.
Looks like Courtney Love may be crashing on a couch near you. Seems the mercurial Widow Cobain is getting evicted from her Manhattan apartment after, ahem, setting it on fire and, oh yeah, forgetting to pay the $27,000-per-month rent. D'oh!
Looks like Trent Reznor is fast becoming the new Danny Elfman (which makes Danny Elfman the new, uh...whatever), raking in his second straight Golden Globe nomination. Last year, it was for his work on the score to "The Social Network". This year's nom is for his score for "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" with Atticus Ross.
Radiohead will be taping a performance for the next season of Austin City Limits on March 7, 2012.
