Chicago's own Survivor rocketed to #1 in the summer of 1982 with "Eye Of The Tiger", from the Rock III movie soundtrack. The band had been hand-picked by the film's star, Sly Stallone, after he had heard the band's single, "Poor Man's Son".
The song would spend six weeks at #1, selling over two million copies and helping the band secure a Grammy win for Best Rock Performance. It would also go to #1 in the UK and Australia.
