The Twitterverse lit up like a roman candle yesterday with rumors that the Foo Fighters recent headlining gig at the Reading Festival in the UK would be their last after Dave Grohl announced onstage that the show would be their last gig "for a long time". Today, of course, Grohl is doing a serious back-pedal on that statement, as the band is still scheduled to play a Rock The Vote concert during the Democratic National Convention. The band is also scheduled to perform at Atlanta's Midtown Music Festival on September 21, the DeLuna Fest in Pensacola Beach, Florida on September 22 and Global Festival in Central Park in New York on September 29.
DRE. ALL ABOUT THE BENJAMINS
Would you like to venture a guess as to the highest paid music celebrity on Forbes' Richest Celebrities List? The answer is Dr. Dre, who comes in at #5 in the Money Rankings with $110 million earned in the last year, is just behind Jerry Bruckheimer. However, he did beat out fellow music celebs Simon Cowell ($90 million), Elton John ($80 million), and Bon Jovi ($60 million). Dr. Dre is currently executive producer for a new FX crime drama based around the L.A. music scene and it's connections to the criminal underworld.
