From the Smoking Popes (website), who will be playing Born To Quit in its entirety on October 20th at Double Door:
We're thrilled to finally be able to announce that the long-awaited reissue of Born To Quit is finally upon us! On Tuesday, October 23, SideOneDummy Records will release a remastered version of our 1994 album on CD and LP that will feature a new artwork, a memorabilia collage and shared memories from Matt Skiba (Alkaline Trio), Joe Shanahan (owner of the Metro in Chicago & Smoking Popes original manager), and comedian Kyle Kinane. There will be 200 copies in red vinyl available only at the SideOneDummy store presale. There are also two bonus tracks - the Willie Nelson cover "Angel Flying Too Close To The Ground" from the "Need You Around" single, and the previously unreleased duet "Blanket In The Park."
To further celebrate the release, the band is taking to the road this fall and will kick each show off by playing the album in its entirety! Dates are up on our TOUR page. These shows will be the only place you can get one of 200 copies of Born To Quit on blue vinyl!
