So a recent check of our web stats revealed a quite unexpected visitor, as "someone" at Wenner Media decided to do a Google search for "jann wenner mean spirited" and guess which recent article by yours truly ended up #2 in Google's search results?
Yep, seems someone "very close" to Jann himself has finally happened upon our infamous "Jann Wenner And Why The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Should Be Bulldozed" article, where we take Wenner to task for the rampant cronyism and grudge-holding (what other excuse could there be for Chicago's exclusion from the Hall, yet Percy Sledge has been in for years) that have thus far eroded the Hall's credibility.
These days, stuff like this happens all the time. Thanks to Twitter and Facebook, the length of time between us writing a scathing review of, say, the new Mick Jagger album and Jagger himself finding out about it is shorter than ever.
Of course, Wenner wouldn't know, as he gave that last crappy Jagger album Goddess In The Doorway (rechristened "Dogshit in the Doorway" by none other than Keith Richards himself) a "five star" review in Rolling stone magazine. Nothing at all suspicious about that.
There are only two logical scenarios, of course, for why anyone from Wenner Media would be Googling "Jann Wenner mean spirited":
#1 - Jann Wenner screams at an intern on their first day for not knowing how he likes his coffee. They burst into tears and immediately run back to their cubicle, where they do a quick Google search, or
#2 - Jann Wenner screams at an intern on their first day for not knowing how he likes his coffee. They burst into tears and immediately run back to their cubicle, completely oblivious to the fact that Mick Jagger is also in the room. Jagger turns to Jann and says, "Well, that was mean-spirited...". Stunned to his core, Jann Wenner immediately tosses Jagger out of his office. He immediately heads to Twitter and types out "Just tossed @MickJagger out of my office and made an unpaid intern cry." Before he did, though, he did a quick Google search.
Oh shit, we just received an email from, you guessed it..."someone" at Wenner Media.
