Jimmy Eat World's Jim Adkins Releases Vinyl 7" Single Series!

Arizona emo-rockers Jimmy Eat World are on an extended break to assemble material for a new studio album due in early 2016, but that doesn't mean new material won't be hitting the streets until then. In fact, this week brings the physical vinyl release of Adkins' single series that began earlier this summer and saw the digital release of a new song each week for six weeks.

– July 10 – “I Will Go”

– July 17 – “Give Me A Sweetheart” (Everly Brothers) (“I Will Go b-side)

– July 24 – “Love Don’t Wait”

– July 31 – “Don’t Act Like Your Heart Isn’t Hard” (Beck) (“Love Don’t Wait” b-side)

– August 7 – “Hell”

– August 14 – “Girls Just Want To Have Fun” (Cyndi Lauper) (“Hell” b-side)

Now, for a mere $30, fans not only get three limited-edition 7" singles, but a nifty Jim Adkins carry-case.

While some may be taken aback by Adkins' ,minimalist version of  Cyndiu Lauper's "Girls Just Want To Have Fun, the centerpiece of the single series, to my ears anyway, was his excellent version of Beck's "Don't act Like Your Heart Isn't Hard", which led off Beck's ambitious Song Reader project in 2013.
