On the surface, there couldn't be two artists as diametrically different as Elvis Presley and the Dixie Chicks. In addition to being from completely different generations, each artist's love of traditional country music doesn't provide nearly the common ground you'd expect.
"Goodbye Earl", the tale of an abusive husband who meets an untimely end, rose to #19 on the Pop singles charts in 2000. "Burning Love", meanwhile, became Presley's final Top 10 single in the U.S. in 1972.
The link between the two songs, of course, is that both were written by Dennis Linde.
