If you're one of those types who are still feverishly sucking the marrow from the heart of yet another postcard summer in the best damn city in the world and can't bring themselves to envision a world beyond those last carefree days of August, but, alas, there is that new Mogwai album, Every Country's Sun, to look forward to on September 1st.
The ridiculously prolific (and consistent) Glasgow band have somehow found one way or another to keep things interesting despite the self-imposed limitations. To whet our appetite, the band issued a new track, "Coolverine", in May, but its the second track to be made public, "Party In The Dark" that is bound to get the most attention - maybe even here in the United States.
For starters, its one of those musical bigfoot sightings - "Shhh, over there, a Mogwai song with vocals!" - that makes you wish the band would just stop the foreplay and give us an entire album of vocals.
A close second would be an entire album produced by David Fridmann (OK Go, Tame Impala, Sparklehorse), who, as luck would have it, is the sonic sculptor behind the board.
September 1st can't come soon enough!
