Butch Walker returns with a new single. That's not nearly as newsworthy as the video for said single, which features one of our favorite character actors, Seymour Cassel (best known for his roles in The Royal Tenenbaums, Rushmore, and The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou).
Jane's Addiction are rolling into town on September 24 and 25 for two shows at METRO. Tickets are ONLY available online and will go on-sale Saturday (that's tomorrow) at NOON (Chicago time) via eTix.com. No word as to who the band finally got to play bass for them.
By now, we're sure you've all heard the store of Matthew Leone from Madina Lake. Good news is that he's back with the band and they have a new album, called World War III, coming out on Razor & Tie Records this coming Tuesday, September 13th. They'll also be headlining at METRO on Saturday, September 17th. Tix are still available.
If you haven't already caught the reformed Material Issue (now operating under the moniker "Material Re-Issue" so as to distinguish themselves from the version led by the late Jim Ellison) you need to do yourself a solid and get on over to Lincoln Hall on the 17th. This is rumored to be one of the band's last local shows of the year.
Blondie's new album, Panic Of Girls, has been out for awhile now overseas, but is now getting a US release via an exclusive arrangement with Amazon music. Sure wish Amazon would have tried talking them into nixing the overly abstract cover art designed by Dutch cult artist Chris Berens, whom guitarist Chris Stein sought out and commissioned to create the work. Chris, just put Debby Harry on the cover. Sure, she's as old as my mom, but she still looks great. Album is out September 13.
