Who Does That Song In The American Airlines' "New Plane Smell" Commercial??

If, like me, you're tired of being hit over the head with this commercial, which seems to air every five minutes, but are curious about the music used is the spot, you've come to the right place because you are about to get "edumacated", baby.

The tune, of course, is credited as Kanye West's "Power", from his 2010 joint My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, BUT that's not the real story.  The entire sample used in the spot, a combination of female vocals and clapping, was actually taken from the song "Afromerica" by Continent Number 6.

Additionally, the production on the Kanye track wasn't by Kanye, as you would expect, but by relative newcomer Symbolyc One, who had initially created the track for rapper Rhymefest.  When Kanye was running short of material for the record, he remembered Symbolyc One's track and began tweaking it in the studio.

When Symbolyc One was informed of this, he was put in a position of having to decide which artist got to use the track.  Obviously, he stood to benefit far more financially by getting a track on the new Kanye record so the choice was made and Kanye had one more track for his album.

Did Kanye truly "produce" the track, as he would like us to believe?  Nope.  While that's him rapping over the track, it is Symbolyc One who created the trac, utilizing samples from the aforementioned "Afromerica", but also "It's Your Thing" by Cold Grits and King Crimson's "21st Century Schoizoid Man".  Neither of those samples, nor Kanye's vocals, appear in the commercial.
