One of the great things about being a former member of R.E.M. is that you have enough cash and name-recognition to pick and choose your musical projects and, when it comes to co-conspirators, Peter Buck continues to show impeccable taste.

Or, perhaps, it is Arthur who becomes more musically accessible when paired with Buck, who clearly wants to plug in, crank it up, and go for broke.
The end result is a song - and album - that might not be anything musically groundbreaking beyond two guys who had fun making a record, but when did it become a shame to make records that sounds damn good at the stop lights with the windows down?
One can't help wonder if what started as Peter Buck playing on the new Arthur solo album morphed into something far greater, for which Arthur could no longer take sole credit.
That is Peter Buck's M.O., after all: Drop by for one song, blow you away, wind up in the band.
Which begs the question, what would be your dream project or band for Peter Buck?
Personally, we'd like to see Buck and Westerberg do something together (and perhaps someone at New West Records could help make that happen?), but, until they do, this Arthur Buck full-length, due June 15, will get a ton of airplay at Chez Shit!
