In Memorium: Playlist To Celebrate The Life And Talent Of Producer Mike Denneen!

While details remain scant (no public obits, not even in the Boston Globe...sigh), reliable sources confirm that producer Mike Denneen passed away on July 10th.

The veteran Boston-area producer and co-owner of Q Division Studios, which he founded in 1986 as a demo studio that gradually grew into one of the city's most fertile breeding grounds for great music and led to Denneen producing major projects by the likes of Aimee Mann, Letters To Cleo, Fountains of Wayne, Jen Trynin, Buddy Judge (ex of The Grays), Gigolo Aunts, and many more.

We will provide more details as they become available.

Update: The Boston Globe obit is here.

  1. Thank you for remembering Mike. He was very private about his illness, so it wasn’t widely known outside of family and close friends.

There will be a public memorial service In early August in Watertown. Stay tuned.
